Tourist Information Golf in North Wales

A unique golfing experience in snowdonia!

North Wales offers you a world of golfing opportunities. With easy access via the A55 Expressway which links to the main UK motorways and airports, you'll be surprised at just how quickly you could be playing on some of Europe's most fabulous courses. Take your pick from our great mix of 28 challenging courses.

Variety - Rocky headland or verdant parkland? Sandy dunes or gorse and heather? The choice of courses will leave you spoilt for choice. Challenges - Scratch golfer or complete novice? Play to win or just for fun? Choose anything from championship challenge courses to something a little more relaxing. Scenery - Play surrounded by our World Heritage castles, breathtaking mountains, beautiful valleys and along our award winning beaches.

Needless to say, Snowdonia dominates the view from nearly every course in the north west but the area's unrivalled collection of castles also contributes to the spectacular background. There's been a course near Anglesey's Beaumaris Castle for a century and a famous one near the classic turrets of Conwy Castle for even longer.

Inland, the beauty spot of Betws-y-Coed boasts a nine-hole course and there is another in the mountains at Ffestiniog. The holiday magnet of the Lllyn Peninsula offers golf of the highest pedigree - James Braid and Tom Morris designed Pwllheli, while Harry Vardon shaped Abersoch. Porthmadog and Criccieth were created by the same influences. The Llyn also boasts Nefyn & District, one of the most beautifully situated courses in Britain.

The ancient Isle of Anglesey was also early on the golf scene with the Anglesey, Holyhead and Bull Bay courses - the last named being a particular favourite of David Lloyd George.

Along the North Wales coast, the elegant Victorian resort of Llandudno is served by three first rate courses while further east the seaside is decorated with long established links at Rhyl, Abergele and Prestatyn.

Many of the accommodation providers listed on this web-site can arrange discounts on green fees at the Betws-y-Coed Golf Club. Ask when making a booking.
